Meet Our Teachers

Margaret Clermont
Teacher and Director
Margaret has been the director and one of the teachers at WCNS since the fall of 1989.  She earned her BA from Boston University and her Masters in Elementary Education from State College of Salem.  Additionally, she has taken numerous early childhood education classes at Boston College, Wheelock College, and Massachusetts Bay Community College. Margaret taught fifth grade for five years in Milton and Topsfield, followed by five years as lead teacher for 4 year-olds at Wellesley Community Children’s Center.  Margaret is the proud mother of two grown sons, and grandmother to an adorable toddler.
Laura Palmer
Laura’s first experience with WCNS was as a parent in 1995.  She found the school after moving back to the area after living in Alaska where her daughter was born.  She enjoyed the experience so much she decided to become an early childhood teacher.  While pursuing her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Aquinas Junior College and taking additional courses at Lesley College, Laura was a substitute and camp counselor before joining the staff as a full-time teacher in 2000.
Abby Cohen
Abby has been a teacher at WCNS since 2014, but began her relationship with the school in 1999 as a parent.  Before staying home with her two daughters, Abby taught Kindergarten in the  Newton Public Schools for over 10 years.  Abby earned a BA in Anthropology at Connecticut College, a MS degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College and has held a Massachusetts Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education since 1989.   As her daughters grew, Abby returned to teaching, working at a variety of preschool programs before re-connecting with WCNS.
